Lincoln County inmate Willie Young is back in jail today afterescaping from the facility Monday evening, said Sheriff WileyCalcote.

Young surrendered to authorities Thursday night at the home ofhis girlfriend on Blossom Trail, just west of Brookhaven. Sheriff’sdeputies searched the residence earlier in the week and foundnothing.

“Last night, we got a tip that he was back,” Calcote said. “Hewas there and he was back in jail by 12:30 a.m.”

Calcote believes that Young was hiding out in the woods near theBlossom Trail residence.

Young, who is facing drug and assault charges, did not resistdeputies.

“Everything went really smooth,” Calcote said.

Young escaped through the unlocked front door of the LincolnCounty Jail Monday evening shortly after entering the room for aGED class.
