Dear editor,

I grew up in Lincoln and Lawrence Counties. After graduatingfrom Co-Lin, my education and profession took me to Louisiana andAlabama.

>After 15 years of living away from Lincoln County, fiveyears ago I moved back to the Brookhaven/Lincoln County area. Iwanted my family to experience the “hometown” flavor of LincolnCounty. This has proved to be a wonderful move.

This year’s FOCUS has reminded me why I wanted to come home. AsI read each section, I become more and more thankful that my familyand I live in Lincoln County!

Each section shines with real stories of the real people thatmake our county what it is. With all of the bad news that happensin the world today, it is good to have a paper that puts in blackand white and living color the names and faces of the people thatmake the world a better place. The DAILY LEADER has put the newsworth reading into “focus.”

So please know that I speak from the bottom of my heart when Isay “thank you” for all the hard work and care that went into theFOCUS 2006.

David Caves,

Pastor of Wellman Baptist Church
