\Services for Larkin Moak, of Bogue Chitto, are 4 p.m. Monday,April 10, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Larkin, 93, died April 8, 2006, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Lincoln County onDec. 8, 1912, to Jake “J.E.” Moak and Lucy Moak.
He was retired from South Central Bell, where he had beenemployed for 35 years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church wherehe was a deacon and served as a Sunday school teacher and treasurerfor several years. He was also a member of the Bogue Chitto MasonicLodge, where he served as secretary.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Ruby PoseyMoak; and his sisters, Evelyn Reeves, Jimmie Stringfellow and KatieRuth Cowart.
Survivors are his son, Richard Moak and his wife, Mary Ann, ofQuitman La.; his daughter, Pat Fortenberry and her husband,Charles, of Fayetteville, N.C.; his brothers, Sherman Moak, ofBogue Chitto, J.E. Moak, of Moultrie, Ga., and Joe Moak, of Luling,Texas; his grandchildren, Pam Slate and her husband, Chad, ofWilmington, N.C., Craig Fortenberry, of Wilmington, Steven Moak, ofQuitman, and Cindy Pardue and her husband, David Ray, of Chatham,La.; and his great-grandchildren, Jacob Venditti, Kate Ann Vendittiand Dillon Pardue.
