Hornets shut out McComb

McCOMB — Southpaw Kyle James handcuffed the McComb with a2-hitter and the Loyd Star Hornets shut out the Tigers 4-0 Fridaynight. James struck out 10 Tigers and walked 3.
Shortstop Patrick Holcomb went 3-for-4. Catcher Tyler Williford,centerfielder Michael Britt, designated hitter John Floyd andsecond baseman Cayce Falvey had 2 hits apiece. Leftfielder BrentFielder, Britt and James doubled.
A single was collected by Jeremy James.
Loyd Star coach Jonathan Breakfield saw his team take a 2-0 leadin the Hornets’ first at-bat.
In the first inning, James doubled homer Britt and Holcomb.
In the second frame, Falvey drove in Jeremy James with the thirdrun. Kyle James drew a bases loaded walk to make it 4-0.
The Class 4A Tigers got singles from Cornelius Stewart and ChrisThabile.
