Co-Lin’s Hamilton bags honor

WESSON –Co-Lin sophomore offensive lineman J.D. Hamilton ofNatchez has been selected the Most Valuable Offensive Lineman onthe Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges All-StateSouth Division Football Team. Hamilton (6-4, 295) was a 2-yearstarter for the Wolfpack.
On the South Second Team, Co-Lin teammates Michael Davis (6-1,310, soph.) of Fayette was named to the as an offensive lineman,Nick Gunter (5-10, 160, fr.) of Wesson was named punter and JarmaulGeorge (6-0, 175, soph.) of New Orleans was recognized at defensiveback..
Gulf Coast coach Steve Campbell was named South Division Coachof the Year after leading his Bulldogs to the South Division titleand a runners-up finish in the state playoffs. Pearl Riverquarterback Jimmy Oliver (6-0, 170, soph.) was named Most ValuableOffensive Player, directing the Wildcats to a second straight statechampionship.
South Division defensive honors went to Rory Johnson (6-1, 245,soph) of Hinds, Most Valuable Defensive Back; and Sean Merrill(6-3, 290, soph.) of Gulf Coast, Most Valuable DefensiveLineman.
