Annie Katherine Weeks Case
Services for Annie Katherine Weeks Case, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapelwith burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Case, 80, died Aug. 11, 2005, at Silver Cross Nursing Home.She was born in Brookhaven on Jan. 28, 1925, to Hugh Denver Weeksand Addie Smith Weeks.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Central BaptistChurch.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Marvin L.Case; her brothers, J. Hugh Weeks, Robert Earl Weeks and DenverGene Weeks; and her sister, Betty Weeks Smith.
Survivors are her daughters, Linda Anne Case and Becky Morgan,both of Brookhaven; her sons, Dennis Lee Case, of Brookhaven; herbrother, Buddy Weeks, of Fayette; her sisters, Donis Allen, ofJackson, and Ann Allen, of Brookhaven; four grandchildren; and twogreat-grandchildren.
Grady Michael ‘Mike’ Eakes
Services for Grady Michael “Mike” Eakes, of Philadelphia, Miss.,are 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 15 at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel inPhiladelphia with burial in Spring Creek Cemetery in NeshobaCounty.
Visitation is Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Eakes, 60, died August 11, 2005, at his home. He was born inthe Spring Creek Community of Neshoba County on Jan. 28, 1945, toGrady and Nellie Eakes.
He was a native and lifelong resident of the Spring Creekcommunity of Neshoba County. He attended Neshoba Central HighSchool and Mississippi State University and had worked in qualitycontrol for Weyerhaeuser Co. in Philadelphia since 1973. He hadserved three different times in the Mississippi House ofRepresentatives, 1980-1988, 1992-1996, and 2000-2004. He servedHouse District 44, covering a major portion of Neshoba County. Hewas chairman of the House Transportation Committee during hissecond term and later served as chairman of the House Oil, Gas andOther Minerals Committee.
Mr. Eakes was a member of the House Appropriations Committee andalso served on various other committees including Education,Juvenile Justice and Conservation.
He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of theVeterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, Ducks Unlimitedand Philadelphia-Neshoba Arts Council.
Mr. Eakes was a member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church inPhiladelphia, where he served as a deacon for a number of years andwas a member of the choir.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, PatsyBarrie.
Survivors are his wife, Linda Hill Eakes, of Philadelphia; hissons, Matthew Ernest Eakes, serving in the Army, and Mark AllanEakes, of Southaven; his brothers, Marzine Eakes, of Jackson, TommyMac Eakes, of Brookhaven; and his sister, Sandra Meacham, ofBrookhaven.
Pallbearers will be Randy Deweese, Ricky Deweese, Jeff Eakes,Robert Eakes, Jay Meacham, Stephen Barrie, Bryan Fanning and MikeBarnett.
Memorials may be made to the Music Ministry of East PhiladelphiaBaptist Church, 635 E. Main St., Philadelphia MS 39350.
Kathleen Warren Jones
Services for Kathleen Warren Jones of Meadville were 2 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 14 at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRoxie Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones, 83, died Saturday at Meadville Nursing Home inMeadville. She was born in Eros, La., on Feb. 10, 1922.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Roxie BaptistChurch.
Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; and herbrother.
Survivors are her sons, George Jones, of Treasure Island, Fla.,and James Jones, of Roxie; her daughter, Barbara Savage, ofMeadville; her sister, Earlene Harrison, of West Monroe, La.; sevengrandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
