Ethel Smith Franklin
Services for Ethel Smith Franklin, of Bogue Chitto, are 10 a.m.Monday, June 6 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in NewProspect Baptist Church.
Visitation is Sunday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Franklin, 94, died May 27, 2005, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on Feb. 23, 1911, to Marion Smith and MamieSmith.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Prospect BaptistChurch, where she was the oldest member.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, JamesWilliam Franklin.
Survivors are her daughter, Dorothy P. Baker, of Bogue Chitto;her sons, James E. Franklin, of Seattle, Wash., and Jere W.Franklin, of Brookhaven; nine grandchildren; and 18great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry D. Franklin, James W. Franklin III,Anthony D. Franklin, Richard T. Baker III, Jerry D. Franklin II,John C. Buie and Cecil L. Baker.
Dorothy Welch Johnson
Services for Dorothy Welch Johnson, of Bogue Chitto, were 10a.m., Monday, May 30 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Easthaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson, 83, died May 28, 2005, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. She was born in Norfield on Sept. 18,1921, to Grover Cleveland Welch and Verna Fisk Welch.
She was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of Johnson GroveChurch of Christ. She was also a member of the Eastern Star ofBogue Chitto.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and a brother andsister-in-law, Grover C. and Tommie Ruth Welch Jr.
Survivors are her husband, Elmer H. Johnson; her stepsons, ElmerRandall Johnson and Wayne Johnson, both of Natchez; her sister andbrother-in-law, Edith W. and Hendrick Laird, of Natchez; and herbrother and sister-in-law, Thomas E. and Dorothy B. Welch, of BogueChitto.
Pallbearers were Kent Welch, Ricky Welch, Corey Welch, ChrisWelch, Mark Welch and David Johnson.
John Keith Pike
Services for John Keith Pike, of Silver Creek, are 1 p.m. today,June 1 at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello with burial in CalvaryBaptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Pike, 78, died May 30, 2005, at St. Dominic-Jackson MemorialHospital. He was born in Kentucky on Feb. 27, 1927, to James B.Pike and Verle Rose Smith Pike.
He was a retired tool pusher with Diamond M. He served in theArmy as a sergeant during World War II and was a member of theVFW.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother James B.Pike.
Survivors are his daughter, Cindy Ready, of New Hebron; his son,Greg Pike, of Silver Creek; his brother, Robert Pike, of CrystalRiver, Fla.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
