Claude Wilmer ‘Will’ Lofton

Services for Claude Wilmer “Will” Lofton, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at New Prospect Baptist Church with burialin the church cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at Riverwood Family FuneralService.
Mr. Lofton, 82, died Jan. 27, 2005, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was a native of Lincoln County andthe son of the late Felix and Cora Smith Lofton.
Mr. Lofton served in the Army Air Corps in the China, Burma andIndia theater in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star. Hewas a graduate of Mississippi State University and spent his39-year career in exploration and production for Shell Oil Company.He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, Aurora MasonicLodge 193 and the American Legion. Mr. Lofton donated the land andhelped organize the Zetus Volunteer Fire Department.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his sister,Aronelle Lofton.
Survivors are his wife, Geraldine Lofton; his children, ChipLofton, of Roxboro, N.C., Claudia Boelte, of New Iberia, La.,Suzanne Williams, of Lufkin, Texas, and Pauline Stutes, of Athens,Ga.; his sister, Voncille Calhoun, of Plant City, Fla.; and eightgrandchildren.
