Registration pays off for latest Hometown Bucks $100 winner

A different kind of deposit paid off for Fred Bacot last Fridaywhen he went to cash a check at Trustmark National Bank.
Bacot, of Brookhaven, was selected as the second winner in TheDAILY LEADER’s Hometown Christmas promotion. He received $100 inHometown Bucks after registering at the bank’s Highland Squarebranch on Brookway Boulevard.
“It was the first time I signed up,” Bacot said.
Bacot was surprised when he was notified that he was thewinner.
“It was the first time I’ve ever won anything,” he said.
Since he cannot spend his winnings at the bank, Bacot waslooking over a list of participating merchants. He said he had nospecific plans for the bucks but they likely would go towardChristmas presents.
Weekly $100 winners will be selected each Friday until Dec. 12,when the grand prize winner of $500 in Hometown Bucks will bedrawn. This year’s participating businesses include Betty Ann’s,Brookhaven Sports; Engravables; Expectations; Millane’s Gifts andBridal Registry; Rushing Boots; Sister’s By Design; Smith Bros.Collision Center and Truck Accessories; T.H. Perkins Furniture Co.;and Wizard Electronics.
Forms and boxes have been placed at each merchant location forshoppers to submit entries. Shoppers may also register at Bank ofBrookhaven, State Bank and Trustmark National Bank.
Shoppers may enter as many times as they would like.
DAILY LEADER employees and their families are not eligible towin. Employees of participating merchants may not register at theirrespective business, but they may register at any of the otherparticipating merchants.
