Services for Hilda Montgomery of Bogue Chitto are 11 a.m.Saturday, Oct. 23 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church withburial in Norfield Bogue Chitto Cemetery.

Visitation is noon until 5 p.m. Friday at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome. A memorial service will be held 7-8 p.m. Friday at New ZionUnion M.B. Church in Bogue Chitto.

Mrs. Montgomery, 65, died of natural causes Oct. 17, 2004, ather residence. She was born in Bogue Chitto on June 5, 1939, toJ.C. Blackwell and Minette McGee Blackwell.

She was a graduate of Jackson State University and received hermaster’s degree from The University of Mississippi. She was aformer high school counselor at Biloxi High School. Mrs. Montgomerywas a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the EucharistMinistry and the Catholic Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter, JenniferK. Montgomery; her brothers, James C. Blackwell and GhannaBlackwell; and her sisters, Nelma Edwards and Mary Lou Brown.

Survivors are her son, Anthony Montgomery of Biloxi; hersisters, Mynell Holmes of Bogue Chitto, Elnora Dorsey of BogueChitto, and Velvelyn Foster of Jackson; her brothers, John WesleyBlackwell of Springfield, Mass., Matthew Blackwell of Jackson,William Blackwell and Levan Blackwell, both of Bogue Chitto; hisadopted brothers, Murray Lee Blackwell of Atlanta, Ga., and JamesS. Blackwell of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Justin andJordan Montgomery; and a host of nieces and nephews.
