Services for Volney O. Nash of Eaton Twp, Ohio, are 10 a.m.Wednesday, Sept. 22, at First Congregational Church of Christ inElyria, Ohio, with burial in Butternut Ridge Cemetery in EatonTwp.

Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Bauer-Laubenthal FuneralHome at Chestnut Ridge Rd. and St. Rt. 57 in Elyria.

Mr. Nash, 97, died Sept. 15, 2004, at New Life Hospice Center ofSt. Joseph in Lorain, Ohio. He was born in Eaton Twp on Nov. 16,1906, where he had lived for most of his life. He also lived inFlorida for 35 years.

He was employed in sales and as an office manager for OhioSanitary in Elyria for 15 years, retiring in 1973. He was a memberof the Elks Lodge 465 in Elyria and a former member of the OberlinCountry Club and the Eaton Twp School Board. He was an avid golferwho was active through 2002.

Mr. Nash graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1928 with adegree in chemistry. He was a member of First Congregational UnitedChurch of Christ in Elyria.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Ruth; his sister, LouiseNash; and his two brothers, Merrill and Nelson.

Survivors are his daughter, Joyce Duncan of Brookhaven; hissons, Richard Nash of Rocky River, Ohio, and Charles Nash ofElyria; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
