Services for Drusie Trass of Brookhaven are 1:30 p.m. Thursday,Sept. 9 at Friendship M.B. Church with burial in the churchcemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from noon until 5 p.m. at R.E. TylerFuneral Home.
Mrs. Trass, 96, died Sept. 1, 2004, at Central MississippiMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Hazlehurst on Oct. 24,1907, to Will Hutchins and Susqueenia Ellis Hutchins.
She was a retired educator in Lawrence, Franklin and Lincolncounties. She attended Alcorn State University in Lorman. She was amember of the Mother Board, Missionary Society, a Capella choir andserved as Sunday School teacher, church clerk and treasurer atFriendship M.B. Church. She was a member of the SPARKLE Club atBethel A.M.E. Church and a member of the Brookhaven Chapter ofAARP.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Henry R.Trass Sr.; two daughters, Thelma Trass Williams and Gladys TrassDillon; three sons, Henry Trass Jr., Major Trass and Andrew Trass;and three siblings.
Survivors are her daughters, Edyce Trass Lawrence of OliveBranch, Theresa Trass Colston of Cleveland, Oh., Dr. Eunice TrassSmith of Jackson and Dr. Phyllis Trass Hammond of Ridgeland; hersons, Eddie Trass of Inglewood Calif., Raymond Trass of Inglewood,Thomas Trass of Memphis, Tenn., and Milton Trass of Brookhaven; hersister, Millie Hutchins Green of Chicago, Ill.; 25 grandchildren;48 great grandchildren; 53 great great grandchildren; and twonieces, Ruby Bowman of Chicago, and Elizabeth Frisby of Black Jack,Mo.
