West Lincoln dumps N.Pike

The host West Lincoln Lady Bears posted a 5-1 win over the NorthPike Lady Jaguars Thursday night in girls slowpitch softballaction. The Lady Bears, coached by Andrew Redd, improved to 5-2 onthe season.
Brittani Phillips was the winning pitcher with no strikeouts orwalks. Jenna Dickerson absorbed the loss with one strikeout and onewalk.
West Lincoln outhit North Pike 11-4 at the plate. Each teamcommitted one error.
Powering the Lady Bears at the plate with three singles wasApril Kennedy. Doubling was Ashley Palomarez. Singling were LaurenSmith, Britnee Smith, Alicia Kennedy, Phillips, Kelsey Bass, CarrieFauver and Heather Huff.
North Pike got a single from Emily Vanlandingham, CaseyDickerson, Kaitlyn Perry and Samantha Roberts.
In the junior varsity game, WestLincoln nipped North Pike 4-3.
West Lincoln is scheduled to host McComb tonight. The JV gamebegins at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity at 6. North Pike hostsAmite County Tuesday for a varsity game beginning at 6 p.m.
