Services for Christopher Ryan Brumfield of Laurel, Md., are 2p.m., Sunday, Aug. 22, at Mt. Zion M.B. Church with burial in EastFernwood M.B. Church Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Turner willofficiate.
Visitation is Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Home inSummit and continues at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Mr. Brumfield, 21, died August 16, 2004 in Laurel, Md. He wasborn in McComb on March 3, 1983, to Mickel A. Hodges of Jackson andLedell Brumfield Campbell of Laurel, Md.
He was a graduate of Laurel High School in Laurel, Md. He was asenior pre-medicine major at the University of West VirginiaUniversity. He was an avid sports fan who loved the outdoors andcoached youth basketball. He also volunteered at a homelessshelter. His family said he dreamed of owning his own familymedical practice.
Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Lucious C.Brumfield and Willie Hodges.
Survivors are his parents; his stepmother, Supriel Hodges ofJackson; his stepfather, Stivell Campbell of Laurel, Md.; hissiblings, Bryan Stivell Campbell and Mickea and Mickala Hodges; hisgrandmothers, Irma Ard Brumfield and Sarah Hodges, both of McComb;his aunts and uncles, the Rev. Daniel and Barbara Brumfield Turner,Major Ray and Lora Brumfield Antoine, Leo Brumfield, Gary and TanyaBrumfield, Rickey and Contina Brumfield, Walter and JosephineBrumfield, Patricia Hodges Martin, Tammy Hodges, Tonette HodgesAllen, Diane Hodges Jones, Calvin Hodges and ChristopherHodges.
