Truck mishap causes small power outage

A small power outage struck residents on Franklin and ChicoraStreets Monday morning when a large truck brought down power andtelephone lines, officials said.

The outage affected approximately 10 people who live on thosestreets, said Kenny Goza, Entergy account service manager. Otherstreets did not appear to be affected.

According to Goza, a truck working for Canadian NationalRailroad hung on some lines on Franklin Street and broke two orthree poles.

“We’ve got lines on the ground all over here,” he said Mondaymorning.

Power was expected to be restored around 1 p.m.
