Services for Albert James Brown Sr. of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, July 28, at Mt. Wade M.B. Church with burial in ScottFamily Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from noon until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary. Family hour is Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at thechurch.

Mr. Brown, 54, died July 23, 2004, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 3, 1949, to GeorgeBrown Sr. and Christine Gray Brown.

He was a 1969 graduate of Alexander High School and employed atKing’s Daughters Medical Center for 33 years as a cafeteria worker,orderly, medical technician (EMT) and plant operator. He was amember of Mt. Wade M.B. Church, where he served as deacon,treasurer of the Brotherhood and member of the Brotherhood Choirand a Sunday School Scholar. He was the church van driver andofficer in charge of fund raising for the youth ministries.

Survivors are his parents; his wife, Claudette Brown, ofBrookhaven; his daughters, Sharon Jones and her husband, Calvin, ofJackson, and Trinella B. Brown of Brookhaven; his sons, Albert J.Brown Jr., and Jamaal S. Brown, both of Brookhaven; his sisters,Mary B. Smith and her husband, Samuel, of Brookhaven, and FrancesA. Banks and her husband, Larry, of Brookhaven; his brothers,Andrew Spiller and his wife, Betty; George Brown Jr.; Robert L.Brown; Charles L. Brown; and Billy Ray Brown, all of Brookhaven;his mother-in-law, Mary Scott Hilliard of Caseyville;sisters-in-law, Shirley Johnson and her husband, Bob, of Milwaukee,Wis., and Irene S. Brown and her husband, James, of San Antonio,Texas; his brother-in-law, John Thomas; four grandchildren, QuincyX. Brown, Gabrielle A. Jones, Calvin D. Jones of Jackson and AyannaJ. Brown of Brookhaven; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,nephews and friends.
