Services for Pauline Phillips Douglas of Clinton, formerly ofLincoln County, were 11 a.m., Thursday, April 29, at BrookhavenFuneral Home Chapel with burial in Bogue Chitto Cemetery.

Mrs. Douglas, 87, died April 27, 2004, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Norfield on June 2,1916, to Ferdinand L. Phillips and Ruby S. Smith Phillips.

She was a retired elementary school teacher with 31 yearsservice in Lincoln County. She was a member of Daughters of theAmerican Revolution (DAR), Colonial Dames and 17th CenturyDaughters of the Pilgrims. She was a member of Morrison HeightsBaptist Church in Clinton. She moved to Clinton in 1986. Shegraduated from Bogue Chitto High School, Copiah-Lincoln JuniorCollege and Mississippi College, where she earned a Bachelor ofArts degree and a Masters of Education degree.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, CarlEugene Douglas; and two brothers.

Survivors are her daughter, Mary Sue Douglas of Jackson; and herson, Gerald Eugene Douglas of Clinton.
