Services for Rene Cameron of Smithdale are Friday, April 16, at2 p.m. at Rockhill M.B. Church in Franklin County. Burial will bein the church cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. at Williams Mortuaryand Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Cameron, died April 8, 2004, at University Medical Centerin Jackson. She was born in Franklin County on Dec. 1, 1926, toEarl Knox and Melissa Knox, who preceded her in death.

She was retired and was a member of Rosehill M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Simmie Roy Cameron; herbrothers, J.D. Knox and Clyde Knox; and a grandson, Makiel CameronJr.

Survivors are her daughters, Fran Cameron, Katherine Westbookand Leontine Cameron, all of Smithdale, Lisa Cameron of BogueChitto, Penny Shell of Roxie, and Ruby Cameron of Chicago; hersons, Roy Cameron, E.C. Cameron and Makiel Cameron, all of Detriot,and Randy Cameron of Smithdale; her sisters, Ida Hall of Ogden,Utah, Rosetta Hall of Denver, Eorlean Jacobs of San Jose, Calif.,Teresa Caston of Meadville, and Marvie Ellington of Ogden, Utah;her brothers, Rufus Knox of Denver, Ervin Knox of Smithdale, C.W.Knox of Austin, Texas, and Robert Knox of Inglewood, Calif.; 13grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
