Services for Alfred E. Bonnabel Jr. of McComb are 10 a.m.,Tuesday, March 16, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in McComb withburial in St. Mary of the Pines Cemetery in Chatawa.
Father Bill Henry and Father Don Deriveaux will officiate theservices. Catchings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Monday from 6-8 p.m. with rosary services at 6:30,and Tuesday from 9-10 a.m., at the church.
Mr. Bonnabel, 89, died March 12, 2004, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. He was born in Metairie, La., on Feb. 26,1915, to Alfred E. Bonnabel Sr. and Luella Van VrankenBonnabel.
He was a retired dairy inspector forin Louisiana and Mississippiand was a former plant sanitarian for Sealtest Dairy Products. Hewas a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and was a chartermember of Charles R. Brill 8054 Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Bonnabel was a U.S. Army veteran with service in World WarII. He was a graduate of Louisiana State university where hereceived his reserve commission as second lieutenant. He was calledto active duty in March 1941 and served with distinction as acaptain with the 351st Field Artillery Battalion.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two daughters,Antoinette Eugene Bonnabel and Bessie Marie Bonnabel; and twosisters, Luella Bonnabel Schuyten and Dorothy Bonnabel Goforth.
Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Bessie Marie Robert Bonnabelof McComb; three daughters, Madeleine Bonnabel of Springfield, Mo.,Patricia Bonnabel Hayden of Osyka and Martha Bonnabel Jeffcoat ofHattiesburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred E. Bonnabel IIIand Charlotte of Crosby, Texas, and John Bonnabel and Kathy ofBrookhaven; three sisters, Elby Bonnabel Lores of Florida, MiriamBonnabel Buchler of Metairie and Lea Mae Bonnabel Jones of NewMexico; one brother, Guion J. Bonnabel of McComb; 12 grandchildren;five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerousnieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe Serio, Jake Bellipanni, Keith Wall, PeteRodrigue, Vince Culotta and Lawrence Giles.
