Services for Benton Lee Wallace of Brookhaven were 11 a.m., Feb.23, at Ruth Baptist Church with burial in Ruth Cemetery. BrookhavenFuneral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wallace, 70, died Feb. 20, 2004, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Bogue Chitto on Feb. 21,1934, to Noel Wallace and Cordie Allred Wallace.

He was a retired instrument man for Armstrong Tire and RubberCompany in Natchez. He was a member of Ruth Volunteer FireDepartment and the Mason Topisaw Lodge. He was a member of RuthBaptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a Navy veteran,serving in the Korean Conflict.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Johnny LeeWallace; and a granddaughter, Amber Peniston.

Survivors are his wife, Marie Seay Wallace of Ruth; hisdaughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Wayne Branton of Wilmot, Ark.,Deb and Dickie Barrett of Ridgecrest, La., Pam and Robert Wimberlyof Prairieville, La., Paula Keith of Vidalia, La., and PeggyPeniston of Ruth; his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and JosieJackson of Magnolia; his brothers, Garland Wallace and NolanWallace, both of McComb, and Stewart Wallace of Natchez; hissisters, Nevelyn Netterville of Gloster, Viana Thornhill ofHammond, La., Linda Harris of Metarie, La., Dimple Hughes of Tampa,Fla., and Debbie Cox of Richland; 21 grandchildren and 20great-grandchildren.
