Services for Augustine Smith Pierce of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Jan. 3, at New Zion Church of God in Christ with burialin St. Paul on the River Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, Jan. 2 from noon to 7 p.m., at the funeralhome, with family hour from 6-7 p.m.

Mrs. Pierce, 93, died Dec. 29, 2003, at Haven Hall Nursing Home.She was born in Jefferson County on Aug. 7, 1910, to Anderson Smithand Aobiana Smith.

She was a member of New Zion Church of God in Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ArlynchPierce; her brother, Lee Edward Tyler; her sisters, Audrey Tylerand Eudie Bee Cubit; and her nephew, Joe Tyler.

Survivors are her nieces, Joyce Rice and husband Larry, ofBrookhaven, Shelia Williams and Eudie Bell Bledsoe, both ofBrookhaven, Kolean Sanders of Clinton, Nell Pierce of Chicago andClaudette Tyler of Milwaukee, Wisc.; her nephews, Murphie Williams,Curtis Williams, Micheal Williams and Kenneth Williams, all ofCaseyville, Dennis Williams and wife Patsy of Brookhaven; EarlTyler of Milwaukee; James Tyler and Zachary Tyler, both of SanDiego, Calif., and Ernest Cubit of Natchez; and a host of otherrelatives and friends.
