A Bogue Chitto man was killed Wednesday afternoon in aone-vehicle accident on Arlington Drive, said Lincoln CountyCoroner-Medical Examiner Clay McMorris.

Willis O. Quin, 77, died when a 1998 Chevy Blazer, driven by hisgranddaughter Carolyn Quin Tobias, left the road and rolled down anapproximately 20-feet embankment, McMorris said. The accidenthappened around 1 p.m.

“Apparently, she just lost control, got on the shoulder andcouldn’t get back on the road,” McMorris said.

Quin was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:45 p.m. McMorrissaid.

Tobias, age unavailable, was taken by ambulance to King’sDaughters Medical Center and then transferred to the UniversityMedical Center in Jackson. She was listed in fair condition at thehospital Wednesday morning, UMC officials said.

Funeral arrangements for Quinn, under the direction of WilliamsMortuary, are incomplete.
