Doris E. McCullough
Services for Doris E. McCullough of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.,Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church withburial in Easthaven Cemetery. Community Funeral Services is incharge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday from 6-9 p.m., at the church, and onWednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mrs. McCullough, 55, died Aug. 10, 2003 at University MedicalCenter in Jackson. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 29,1947.
She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church.
Survivors are her husband, James L. McCullough of Brookhaven;her daughter, Sherry McCullough of Brookhaven; and her son, VanMcCullough of Brookhaven.
Mary Lena McGlothen
Services for Mary Lena McGlothen of Inglewood, Calif., formerlyof Brookhaven, were 11 a.m., July 16, at Olivet Lutheran Church inHawthorne, Calif., with burial in Inglewood3 Park Cemetery.
Mrs. McGlothen, 66, died July 11, 2003. She was born inBrookhaven on March 1, 1937, to James and Aileen Justice.
She was a graduate of Alexander High School, and attended AlcornState University. She grew up in the Della Green community. She wasa member of Olivet Lutheran Church. Her family and friends were hergreatest joys.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her sisters,Carolyn Butler and Ann Seals.
Survivors are her husband, Lonnie Drew McGlothen; her children,Kenneth Ray Carter, Jacqueline Maria Metzgen, Tonya ReneeJefferson, Lavander Hall Jr., and Antonia McGlothen Brown; 8grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ethel Irene Touchton
Services for Ethel Irene “Mrs. T.” Touchton of Brookhaven, are10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel. Agraveside service will be held at 2 p.m., at Harrisville BaptistChurch Cemetery in Simpson County. Brookhaven Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5-9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Touchton, 94, died Aug. 11, 2003 at Brook Manor NursingHome. She was born in Harrisville in Simpson County on Nov. 26,1908, to J.M. McLeod and Mary Clark McLeod.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HarryLester Touchton; and her brothers, J. Royce McLeod, W.D. (Dub)McLeod and J.C. McLeod.
Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Edwin E. andJeannine T. Smith of Brookhaven, and Larry and Martha Ann Hutter ofMobile, Ala.; her son, Herbert H. Touchton of Clinton; her sisters,Ruth Lumpkin of Jackson, and Ramie Phillips of Houston, Texas; herbrother and sister-in-law, Dewitt and Frances McLeod of Florence;her eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a host ofnieces and nephews.
Rufus A. Watkins
Services for Rufus A. Watkins of California, formerly ofBrookhaven, were 9 a.m., July 3, at Inglewood Cemetery MortuaryManchester Chapel in Inglewood, Calif.
Mr. Watkins, 82, died June 27, 2003. He was born in Brookhavenon March 3, 1921, to Charlie Watkins and Louise NorwoodWatkins.
He was a graduate of Alexander High School. He served in themilitary from Oct. 26, 1942-Feb. 6, 1946, when he was honorablydischarged. He moved to Los Angeles, Calif., and attended Gloverand Sons Institute of Tailoring and became a certified tailor. Heworked for many years as head steward at Mike Lyman Grill of LosAngeles, and later worked as manager and cook at Duke’s BurgerHouse in Los Angeles.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his brother, Charles Watkins of Los Angeles,Calif.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.
