Services for Martha Farr Bonds of Fayette were 2 p.m. Saturday,Aug. 2, at Roxie Baptist Church with burial in Roxie Cemetery.

Mrs. Bonds, 59, died Aug. 31, 2003, at Natchez CommunityHospital. She was born in Natchez on Nov. 7, 1943, to the lateLonnie B. and Ida Aldridge Farr.

She was a elementary school teacher for 25 years, most recentlyat Franklin County Upper Elementary School. She was a talentedmusician, having served many churches as organist, pianist andsoloist. She graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, whereamong other honors she was chosen “Most Beautiful.” She was anhonor graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.

Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, JamesBertis Bonds; and a brother, L.B. Farr.

Survivors are her husband, Howard T. Bonds of Fayette; sons,Michael Farr Bonds and Matthew James Bonds, both of Atlanta;step-children, Sydnett McNeese and husband Tony of Bogue Chitto andCaleb Bonds and wife Heather of Bogue Chitto; brother, Douglas Farrand wife Emma of Roxie; sister, Barbara Duck and husband Albert ofNatchez; sisters-in-law, Louise Farr of Roxie, Elaine Rivera andhusband Greg of Raleigh, N.C., and Ann Neal of Arlington, Texas;grandchildren, Luke Terrell, Caley Beth Bonds and Molly GraceBonds; and several nieces and nephews.

Franklin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
