Services for Herman Lee Roy Bowman of Brookhaven are 10 a.m.,Friday, July 18, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 8-10 a.m., at the church.

Mr. Bowman, 89, died July 16, 2003, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Hamburg, Ark., on Feb. 14, 1914, to WilliamIrving Bowman and Axie Pittman Bowman.

He was owner of Bowman Barber Shop for 69 years. He served inthe Marine Corps during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Clark Bowmanand Herman Bowman Jr.; and a granddaughter, Jamie Gibson.

Survivors are his wife, Elsie V. Bowman; his daughter, KatrinaJackson of Brookhaven; his sons, Kenneth Bowman of Brookhaven, andRichard Bowman of Zachary, La.; his sister, Betty Ann Evans ofBrookhaven; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and threegreat-great-grandchildren.
