Felony charges filed in separate cases

Two Bogue Chitto men were arrested on felony charges in twoseparate incidents Thursday, according to the sheriff’s departmentofficials.
Troy Ralph McBee, 62, of 1040 Hwy. 51, was charged withaggravated assault with a deadly weapon after firing on someone,Sheriff Lynn Boyte said, declining to give the victim’s name.
“The subject shot into an automobile during a civil matter,”Boyte said.
There were no injuries in the incident that allegedly occurredat McBee’s residence.
McBee was released from the Lincoln County Jail on a $5,000bond.
A second Bogue Chitto man, James Earl Winston, 35, of 1434Calvary Dr., has been charged with the sale of marijuana over anounce following a joint investigation between the sheriff’sdepartment and Brookhaven Police Department. Winston is being heldin the Lincoln County Jail.
“It’s very possible some other charges may come out of this,”said Capt. Dustin Bairfield with the sheriff’s department.
The charge will also be enhanced with stiffer penalties becauseof a discovery officers made at the home, he said.
“We also recovered a firearm, which will enhance the fine andthe time for this crime,” Bairfield said.
Bairfield and Brookhaven Police Officer John Douglas arrestedWinston in his home Thursday.
Sheriff Lynn Boyte attributed the Neighborhood Watch andCrimeStoppers programs with the bust.
“We got involved in this by complaints from citizens, whonoticed a high volume of traffic at the house,” Boyte said.
Bairfield and Douglas then began an investigation, which isongoing.
