Services for Augustus Knight of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Friday,May 30, at Tyler Funeral Home with burial in Carver HeightsCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1:30-2 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Knight, 103, died May 25, 2003, at Haven Hall Nursing Home.He was born in Brookhaven on April 23, 1900, to John Knight and LouAda Watkins Knight.

He was a former butler and chief cook for the Jayne CarterFamily in California, serving five generations of the family. Hewas a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He wasan army veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, JosieBrowder, Carrie Knight Edwards, and Gussie Brown, his twin; and hisbrothers, Sammie Knight and Louis Knight.

Survivors are his sisters, Ada L. Knight Robinson of Cleveland,Ohio, and Gertrude Knight of Brookhaven; his twin niece and nephew,Gwendolyn Knight-Bell and Sammie George Bell of Los Angeles,Calif.
