Services for James J. Mahaffey of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Thursday, May 15, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5:30-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Mahaffey, 89, died May 13, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn on April 9, 1914, to Fred B. Mahaffey and Adell CranePennington Mahaffey.

He was a farmer. He was a member of Church of Christ. He was amason with the Fair River Lodge.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Malinda LairdKing Mahaffey; a son, Dutch Mahaffey; and a stepdaughter, RubyKing.

Survivors are his son, Fred Mahaffey of Brookhaven; his stepson,Leonard King of Summit; and several grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren.
