Services for Francis E. “Frank” Smith of Meadville are 11 a.m.,Thursday, April 17, at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Churchwith burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 8-10:30 a.m.at Franklin Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith, 57, died April 14, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Amite County on June 27, 1945, to Carey E. Smith and MaryHurst Smith.

He was a mechanic for Franklin Timber Company. He was a memberof Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteranof Vietnam.

Preceding him in death were his father; and his brother, FloydSmith.

Survivors are his wife, Sheila Cotten Smith of Meadville; hismother, Mary Smith of Prairieville, La.; his sons, Jeffrey Smith ofDenham Springs, La., and Francis E. Smith Jr. of Meadville; hisdaughters, Jennifer Clanton of McCall Creek, Erin Bandy of UnionChurch, and Lindsay Smith of Meadville; his brothers, Carey E.Smith of Prairieville, James Smith of St. Gabriel, La., and JosephSmith of Port Gibson; his sisters, Margaret Sideris of Prairievilleand Dixie Clark of Denham Springs; and six grandchildren.
