Loyd Star Hornets win Lincoln Co. Tournament

Match medalist Blake Windham shot a 2-under 33 Monday at theBrookhaven Country Club, leading the Loyd Star Hornets to theLincoln County Tournament championship. The Hornets shot aschool-record 147 for 9 holes and beat runner-up Bogue Chitto by 40strokes.
Windham was followed by teammates Chris Hester at 36, Jody Brittand Josh Wright at 39 and Dylan Britt at 42.
“Blake shot a great round,” said Loyd Star coach Ricky Myers.”He made bogey on that par-3 ninth hole.”
Bogue Chitto was led by Caleb McCaffrey’s 43. The Bobcatsfinished 14 strokes ahead of West Lincoln (201) and Enterprise wasfourth at 257.
West Lincoln was led by Landon Case and Drew Smith who both shot44. Enterprise’s Josh Pruden also shot 44.
Hornets 2nd at Natchez
Loyd Star was runner-up to Natchez Cathedral at Duncan Park asthe Green Wave shot 155 to beat the Hornets by 6 strokes in atriangular match. Cathedral’s Tyler Crisp was match medalist with a36.
Wright and Windham led Loyd Star (161) with 39s. Hester shot 40,Jody Britt 43 and Dylan Britt 44.
Natchez was third with a 198, led by Akeem West’s 38.
