Services for James Charles Parsons of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Dec. 28, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inArlington Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Parsons, 65, died Dec. 25, 2002, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 4, 1937, to Curtis B.Parsons and Lucretia Lewis Parsons.
He was retired from Delphi Packard, General Motors Company. Hewas a member of First Baptist Church. He was in the U.S. Army SpeckIV in Alaska.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his former wives, Dot Cummins Parsons McClendonand Judieth Parsons Smith, both of Brookhaven; his daughters, PamEllis of Prairieville, La., and Wanda Gharibian of Thousand Oaks,Calif.; his brothers, Les Parsons of Atlanta, Ga., and Robert EstusParsons of Dallas, Ga.; and his grandchildren, Curtis TaylorParsons Ellis, Victoria Noelle Ellis, Aaron Alexander Gharibian,and Mark Ryan Gharibian.
Memorials may be made to the single adult class at First BaptistChurch.
Pallbearers will be D. W. Maxwell, Donald Cothern, Ronny Smith,Milton West, Warren Stamps, David Gibson, and Jim Steuerwald.Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Carroll Smith, James Potrey,Shaffier Smith, and Gabriel Terrell.
