Services for Johnnie P. “J.P.” Smith of Clinton, La., are 2 p.m.Sunday, Nov. 3, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in TiltonUnited Methodist Church Cemetery in Jayess.
Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 3, from 11 a.m. until service time atthe funeral home.
Mr. Smith, 89, died Oct. 31, 2002, at Lane Memorial Hospital inZachary, La. He was born in Lawrence County.
He was a retired pipefitter with local union 198 in Baton Rouge,La. He was a resident of Clinton, La., and a former resident ofBaton Rouge. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Monticello. Hewas a former member of Tilton United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers; an infantdaughter; and a grandson.
Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Roberta Mullins Smith ofClinton, La.; a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Judy Smith ofAiken, S.C.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teri and Warren Wilsonof Baton Rouge and Debbie and Phil Green of Clinton, La.; twobrothers; three sisters; seven grandchildren; and sevengreat-grandchildren.
