Services for Winford C. Ashley of Hazlehurst are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Nov. 2, at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is today from 4:30-8 p.m. at the church. StringerFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ashley, 76, died Oct. 31, 2002, at his residence. He wasborn in Hazlehurst.

He was retired from the State Tax Commission and from CurtisIndustries. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, wherehe was a deacon. He was a veteran of WWII.

Preceding him in death was his infant son, Harold Ashley.

Survivors are his wife, Nancy Matilda Ashley of Hazlehurst; hissons, Winford Ashley of Knoxville, Tenn., Randy Ashley of Florence,and Larry Ashley of Hazlehurst; his daughters, Cynthia Vallas ofMadison and Susan Prince of Brandon; and 10 grandchildren and fourgreat-grandchildren.
