Services for Sgt. Andrea Maurice Watkins of Killeen, Texas, are1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, at Avery Chapel A.M.E. Church withburial in Carver Heights Cemetery.

Visitation is today from noon until 7 p.m., with the wake from7-8 p.m., at Tyler Funeral Home.

Sgt. Watkins, 41, died Sept. 14, 2002, at Killeen. He was bornin Wesson on Feb. 16, 1961, to Joshua David Watkins Jr. and Dorothy”Doll” Burge Watkins.

He was a sergeant in the U. S. Army, stationed at Ft. Hood,Texas. He was a member of Avery Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Preceding him in death were his father; and his brother, AnthonyWatkins.

Survivors are his wife, Marietta Pettway Watkins of Killeen; hismother, Dorothy “Doll” Burge Watkins of Brookhaven; his sons,Travis McDaniel of Brookhaven, Vedo Pettway of Atlanta, Ga., andMarquel Pettway of Dallas, Texas; his brother, Andrade Watkins ofBrookhaven; his sisters, Shelia Miller of Chicago, and Peggy Wells,Suzette Watkins, Penelope Banks, and Philippia Jefferson, all ofBrookhaven; and a host of nieces and nephews.
