Services for Elois Coward of McComb were 11:30 a.m., Wednesday,July 3, at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. GileadPrimitive Baptist Church in Franklin County.

Miss Coward, 72, died June 30, 2002, at her sister’s home inMemphis. She was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 29, 1929, toWilliam Joseph Coward Sr. and Ruth Geneva Davis Coward. Shegraduated from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and received her B.A.degree from Mississippi College.

She retired after 32 years of teaching. She taught in FrenchCamp and in Milton, Fla. She taught for the U. S. Government inJapan, Turkey and England, and traveled extensively while overseas.She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Franklin County.

Preceding her in death were her parents, six brothers, and foursisters.

Survivors are her sisters, Irene Cowart Scott of Memphis andJearline Coward Hobart of Columbia, Ohio; and four nephews and sixnieces.
