Services for Bennie Jo Quinn McGuffie of Madison are 3 p.m.,Wednesday, March 27, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello.
Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from noon untilservice time at the funeral home.
Mrs. McGuffie, 68, died March 26, 2002, of heart failure at herresidence. She was a native of Brookhaven and had lived in theJackson area for 50 years.
She was a homemaker. She and her husband established McGuffiePainting and Sandblasting Co., Inc., Asbestos Removal Services,Inc., and M&M Services, Inc. They operated McGuffie Farms inBrookhaven, where they raised Simmental and Simbrah cattle for 20years. She loved attending cattle sales and cooking for roundups atthe farm, and weekend visits with her grandchildren spent fishingand four-wheeling. She was an avid gardener, growing flowers andworking in the vegetable garden with her brother and sisters.
She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Jackson and inrecent years attended First Presbyterian Church in Madison.
Preceding her in death were her parents; James Luther Quinn andAlberta Mason Quinn; her husband of 43 years, Roy E. McGuffie; andher sisters, Lanell Krogstad and Margie Griffith.
Survivors are her children, Debbie Jo, Dale and Dennis McGuffie,all of Madison; her grandchildren, Erin Gall and her husband Tim,Brynn McGuffie, Megan Terrell and Lauren, Blair and DanielMcGuffie; and her great-granddaughters, Marley Kate Johnston andMaddie and Haley Gall; her brother, Jim Quinn, and sisters, BerniceWilson and Ruth Bessonette of Brookhaven.
Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church in Jackson;First Presbyterian Church in Madison; or Antioch Baptist ChurchCemetery Fund in Monticello.
