A Lincoln County man on his way to work in Lawrence County waskilled Friday morning in an accident on East Lincoln Road,authorities said.

Scott Johnston, 18, of 2592 Mallalieu Road, was heading to workat the Georgia-Pacific mill when he apparently lost control off his2001 Chevrolet pickup in a sharp curve and hit a tree on thepassenger’s side. The accident, which happened in Lawrence County,was reported at 6:52 a.m.

Johnston sustained head trauma in the accident and was taken toLawrence County Hospital, where he later died. Other information onthe accident and funeral arrangements was unavailable.
