Services for Willard James Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.Sunday, Feb. 3, at Mt. Zion Church of Christ with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Mr. Smith, 79, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 21, 1923, tothe late Merle and Cora Smith.

He was retired from Chevron Oil Company. He was a member of Mt.Zion Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World WarII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Willie andWesley Smith; and sister, Bonnie Mae Walker.

Survivors are his wife, Margie Smith Smith of Brookhaven; sons,Dannie W. Smith, Stan J. Smith and Randall Lofton, all ofBrookhaven; daughters, Susan L. Keys of Wesson and Helen Ratcliffof Natchez; sister, Audrey Nell Bowman of Brookhaven; sevengrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
