Services for Henry Victor Becker of Brookhaven are 10 a.m.Thursday, Jan. 31, at St. Francis of Assisi Church with burial inTHE Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 5-7 p.m. at HarrigillFuneral Home. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Becker, 88, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in Brookhaven on Jan. 1, 1914, to thelate Ferdinand Victor and Bettie Drane Becker.

He was a retired businessman and the former owner of Benoitsfrom 1946-1985. He was a member of St. Francis of AssisiChurch.

Mr. Becker was the past president of the Kiwanis Club, theBrookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, Retired Merchants ofMississippi and Jackson Jr. Chamber of Commerce. He was the formerchairman of the Democrat Nomination Committee and Lincoln CountyIndustrial Development Foundation, past commissioner of theBrookhaven Housing Authority, past king of the Harvest Ball and amember of the Knights of Columbus and Camella Society. He was aWorld War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors are his wife, Louise Moore Becker of Brookhaven; son,Henry Alan Becker of Slidell, La.; daughter, Alison Becker Greeneof Wilmington, N.C.; sister, Bettie Becker Steffan of St. Louis,Mo.; and three grandchildren.
