Services for Ona Mae McGuffie of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Antioch Baptist Church in Lawrence Countywith burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mrs. McGuffie, 85, died Jan. 14, 2002, at her daughter’sresidence. She was born in Lincoln County on May 12, 1916, toErnest C. Sutton and Carrie Hemphill Sutton.

She was a homemaker and retired from Stahl-Urban after 31 years.She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she served aschurch clerk for over 30 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, AlfredMcGuffie; and two sisters and four brothers.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Don R. and Mary AgnesMcGuffie of New Iberia, La.; her daughter and son-in-law, BobbieNell and Grady Eugene Boyd of Brookhaven; her sisters, Ola SuttonJohnson and Frances Sutton Johnson, both of Chatam, La., OleenNorman of West Monroe, La., and Ruby Salles of Shreveport, La.; hergrandchildren, Dusty Boyd of Brookhaven, Ricky McGuffie of NewIberia, La., Shari McGuffie Johnson of Longview, Texas, and DonnaMcGuffie Johnson of West Warwick, R.I.; and threestep-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Boyd, Ricky McGuffie, Charles Crane,James Earl Crane, Troy Ezell, and Kenzie Letchworth. Honorarypallbearers will be Steven Johnson and the deacons of AntiochBaptist Church.
