Services for King Emanuel Tillman of Roxie are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Paul U. M. Church with burial in OldSixteen Section Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from noon through the wake service from 5-9p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home.
Mr. Tillman, 98, died Jan. 4, 2002, at Franklin County Hospital.He was born in Copiah County on Oct. 11, 1903, to Ammon Tillman andRosie Lee Welch Tillman.
He was a retired wood hauler. He was a member of St. Paul U. M.Church, where he served as superintendent of Sunday school foreight years, was a church trustee, steward, and class leader. Hewas the coaster for Franklin County Singing Convention, coaster ofthe St. Paul Vocal Choir, and president of the Franklin CountySinging Circle. He was a member of the W. M. Masonic Lodge ofRoxie.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, RosieNelson Tillman; his second wife, Eloise Cameron Tillman; hisbrothers, Fairey, A. T., and Carey; and his children, Emanuel Jr.,J. C. and Leola.
Survivors are his sons, Robert Tillman and Dr. J. D. Tillman,both of Roxie; his daughters, Pecolia L. Tillman Bonds of Natchezand Claudell Tillman Brown of Roxie; his sister, Pecolia TillmanWeathersby of Magee; and 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren,and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
