Services for Willie Fred “Bill” Cotten of Aberdeen were heldNovember 8 at Tisdale-Lann Funeral Home with burial in RamahBaptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek.

Mr. Cotten, 65, died Nov. 6, 2001, of complications due toleukemia at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was bornin McCall Creek on June 27, 1936, to Clyde Thomas and Lola IreneSmith Cotten. He lived most of his life in Clinton and moved toAberdeen five years ago.

He was an inspector for the Mississippi Oil and Gas Board. Hewas a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Aberdeen.

Survivors are his son, Jay Cotten of Gansevoort, N.Y.; hissister, Kathy Cotten of Jackson; his aunts, Aline Cotten Blackwellof Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Reba Cotten Smith of Brookhaven; hisspecial friend, Janie Darty of Aberdeen; and two grandchildren andcountless friends he touched throughout his life.
