Services for Herman Leroy Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inEasthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 87, died Oct. 13, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 20, 1913, to L. P.Smith and Fannie McCree Smith.

He was sexton of city cemeteries for the city of Brookhaven. Hewas a member of Easthaven Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran ofWWII.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Etta Mae Smith; his daughter andson-in-law, Janice and Bennie Haley of Brookhaven; hisgrandchildren, Ronda and Jerry Rowells; his great-grandchildren,Ben and Nikki Rowells; and a host of nieces and nephews.
