Services for Alva James Williams of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Friday, Sept. 28, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with gravesideservices at 2 p.m. at Mt. Herman, La., Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Williams, 59, died Sept. 26, 2001, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in Pike County on April 13, 1942, toJoel Williams and Edith Pelfrey Williams.

He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Baptistfaith.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors are his wife, Janice Williams of Brookhaven; his sonsand daughter-in-law, Richard Williams of Hattiesburg and Scott andSherry Williams of Brookhaven; his mother, Edith Williams ofMagnolia; his sister, Elien McGehee of Magnolia; and hisgrandchildren, Kris Douglas and wife Christy of Alexandria, La.,Troy Douglas, Andi Douglas and Jessica Douglas, all ofBrookhaven.
