Services for Hollis James Thames of Lawrence County are 2 p.m.,Monday, Sept. 24, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in NewHope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Thames, 88, died Sept. 22, 2001, at Lawrence County NursingCenter. He was born in Lawrence County on June 6, 1913, to JoeLaney Thames and Estella Lambert Thames.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Audrey NelsonThames; his daughter, Helen Jo Hedgepeth; and four brothers and twosisters.

Survivors are his sons, Wilford Lee Thames of Monticello andLarry Thames of Brandon; his daughters, Billie Jean Berry ofJackson, Lora Hilton of Gautier, and Judy Alexander of Shubuta; hissister, Willie Mae Hammond of Monticello; and 17 grandchildren, 24great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
