Services for Evelyn Friend Wallace of Springfield, Ore., are 4p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wallace, 94, died Sept. 12, 2001, at her residence. She wasborn in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on June 28, 1907, to John Franklin Friendand Flora Olive Jones Friend.

She was a retired canning factory worker in Springfield. She wasa member of the Moose Club and the Rock Club. She was a member ofthe Quaker faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HermanJerry Wallace Sr.; and her brother.

Survivors are her stepson, Herman Jerry Wallace Jr. of Covina,Calif.; her stepdaughter, Bertha Peri of San Gabriel, Calif.; hersisters, Nell Friend Chapline of Norwalk, Calif., and Mary Fendleyof Santa Fe Springs, Calif.; her brother-in-law and wife, Haroldand Bobbie Wallace of Lanette, Ala.; her sisters-in-law andhusband, Louise and John Allgood of Brookhaven and Virginia Wallaceand Grace Wallace, both of Bogue Chitto; her special friends, LeoOrcutt and Betty Orcutt of Springfield; and numerous nieces andnephews.
