Brookhaven Americans dominate Crystal Springs

WESSON – The Brookhaven American All-Stars pounded CrystalSprings 20-2 Friday night in the second round of the Dixie Youth AANorth Subdistrict Tournament. The Americans improved to 2-0 in thedouble-elimination tourney.

The tournament will continue through Monday with thechampionship game.

In the first inning, Brookhaven American Bubba Keene belted agrand slam home run. He also singled twice for six RBI on thenight.

Crystal Springs scored two runs in the top of the fourth beforeBrookhaven American Tyler Coker ended the game with a double playwith a force out at first base and a tag on the runner heading tohome plate.

Adding support to the Americans win with a triple, a double anda single was Mark Rushing. Danny Ford, Dillon Newell and TravisKeene drilled a double and a single apiece. Collecting two singlesapiece were Hunter Franklin, Daniel Pepper and Grant Burke. GabeWilson, Anthony Durr, Coke and Myles Melancon hit safely. ThomasKeene finished with three #RBI followed by Rushing, Newell andBurke with two RBI apiece.

Crystal Springs got a single from Dillon Hutchins, Thomas Ricks,Walker Parrish, Michael Bagley and T.J. Smith.
