Russ leads KDMC team to golf scramble crown

Chandler Russ led an impressive sweep in the King’s DaughtersMedical Center Foundation Golf Tournament held Thursday at theBrookhaven Country Club. Russ won two individual awards and helpedhis KDMC team of Carl Smith, Bob Meteer and Mike Willoughby win the18-hole scramble with a 17-under-par 54

The KDMC team pocketed $100 each. Russ also won the longestdrive on No. 2 and the closest to the pin on No. 9 awards.

Two of the 11 teams tied for the runner-up spot at 56. TheBrookhaven Internal Medicine team of Dr. Ray Montalvo, Owen Carty,Richard Furr and Glen Driskell won the scorecard playoff and earned$75 each.

Third place went to the Brookhaven Orthopedic team of RobertHolloway, Richard Barker, Ed Floyd and Andrew Hickman. They eachtook home $50.

Proceeds from the tournament went to the foundation for thebetterment of the healthcare community. KDMC administrator DeanSnider served as tournament coordinator.
