Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Orie Brister Scroggins of Clanton, Alabama, were Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park. 

Visitation was Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, from 10 a.m. until time of service at Riverwood. Mrs. Scroggins, 97, formerly of Brookhaven, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. She was born Sept. 28, 1918, to Sam M. Brister and Lela Belle Glover Brister.

She was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were husband, Joe Scroggins; parents; granddaughter, Leigh Ann Scroggins; sisters, Gettye Bardwell, Lexie B. Allen, Willie B. Albritton, Evelyn Baugher and Minnie Bell Ferguson; brothers, Frank Edward Brister, Woodrow Brister, Laurice Brister, Elmer Brister and Sam Brister Jr.

Survivors are her sons, Ronnie Scroggins and wife, Jeralyn, of Clanton, Alabama, Billy Joe Scroggins and wife, Arlene of Pensacola, Florida; grandson, J. Boone Scroggins of Alabaster, Alabama; and great-granddaughter, Tori Scroggins of Alabaster, Alabama.
