Memorial Services for Gene A. Turnage of Brookhaven are 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive.

Mr. Turnage, 83, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at VA Medical Center in Jackson.

Mr. Turnage was an avid fisherman who also loved football and boxing. Playing with his grandchildren was also a passion he enjoyed.

Preceding him in death were his parents; Rossie and Ora Turnage of Columbia; his brother, Kenneth Turnage, also of Columbia.

Survivors are his wife, Etoy R. Turnage of Brookhaven; his son, Darrell Gene Turnage and wife, Adrian, of Brookhaven; his granddaughter, Charity Turnage, of Brookhaven and her fiancé, Shaun Roberts; his grandson, Coleman Turnage and his fiancée, Laura Fredenburg, also of Brookhaven; and his great-grandchildren, Jamie Emfinger and Adriean Ables.
